Summer Lovin' Goes Nuclear: Love Island USA Blazes Back with Scorching Views

The Guilty-Pleasure Reality Show That Keeps On Giving: Love Island USA Returns with a Bang in Season 8

Get ready to obsess over some seriously scorching summer lovin' - and the drama that comes with it. The ultimate guilty-pleasure reality show, Love Island USA, is back for an all-new season, and it's already bringing in more viewers than ever on Peacock. Like, we're talking a whopping 74% increase in audience for its debut compared to Season 7 - yikes, that's some serious drama-filled magic.

The season premiered on Tuesday, June 2, and within the first three days, NBCUniversal data says the show reached over 800 million minutes watched. That adds up to about 3.7 million views, which is a whole lotta love (and love triangles, and recouplings, and tantrums... you get the idea). This surpasses the three-day viewership of any other season debut on Peacock - that's some serious ratings magic.

Now, we know what you might be thinking: "What about Season 7?" Well, let us tell you, that season was a real doozy. Love Island USA brought in huge numbers for Peacock, making it the most-watched streaming original season of television in 2025, according to Luminate's report. And then there were the infamous antics from some of the cast members - we're looking at you, Huda Mustafa and Jeremiah Brown. Their drama drew people in and prompted them to vote en masse to split the couple up. Other couples, like Olandria Carthen and Nicolas Vansteenberghe (aka Nicolandria), were more well-received by the masses.

But this season? Well, let's just say it's off to a scorching hot start. Paralympian Beatriz Hatz is one of the new islanders looking for love - and we're loving her already. Before the season started, there was some drama when a bombshell cast member was removed after controversial posts resurfaced. Nearly a week has passed since the season began, and there have already been fights and tears - oh, and only one islander has been dropped from the villa as of June 7. That would be police officer and father Sean Reifel, who exited the villa after being left single following a recoupling.

Love Island USA is based on the original British dating show, but we're loving Ariana Madix from Vanderpump Rules bringing her own brand of sass to the hosting duties. Iain Stirling, who also narrates the British version, brings his signature wit and humor to the show as well.

Episodes air every day except Wednesday and Saturday at 9 pm ET - so make sure you set your reminders (or just binge-watch the whole season in one go, no judgments here). And if you need a fix of Love Island USA after dark, tune into Aftersun on Saturdays for some post-show fun.
